Whether composite facades made of aluminium or curtain wall facades made of glass: the demand for high functionality, technology and quality in modern buildings is constantly increasing: higher energy efficiency, modern design, longer service life and freedom from maintenance with falling costs. More and more movable facade elements are being used and environmental influences pose a major challenge to the corrosion and weather resistance of the materials used. With our plain and spherical plain bearings, we offer components made of high-performance polymers for indoor and outdoor use. They are particularly suitable for disc bearings, for example in the area of exterior facades, and can be successfully installed dry and without additional lubricants at temperatures from -30 to +80 °C.
Tested for continuous load, media resistance and low-noise operation
In the industry's largest plastic test laboratory, iglide® bearings, drylin® linear technology and igubal® coupling rods are put through their paces. The focus here is on examining the tribological specification of different material pairings and testing assemblies. The results are fed into our tools for calculating service life and enable precise predictions to be made about durability.
Upon request, igus® also carries out customer tests in order to test the use of the products under very individual conditions.
