The wastewater treatment plant of the Reinhalteverband Salzburger Ennstal treats the wastewater of around 12,500 residents and up to 120,000 ski tourists in the Sportwelt Amade with the member municipalities of Altenmarkt, Flachau and Radstadt and the Obertauern ski area.

The operation and in particular the transport routes and their supply lines are severely affected by the environmental conditions. Due to the amount of snow, it has so far been necessary to keep the lift tracks clear with a milling machine and to regularly replace the moving parts for the cable routing due to the climate and environmental conditions.

RHV has installed the basic flizz® system from igus® on the two basins, which are equipped with movable scrapers. It consists of an energy chain that is guided safely and smoothly in a weatherproof stainless steel housing. The compact and robust system is suitable for travel distances of up to 200 metres and was designed from the ground up for many years of trouble-free operation with minimal maintenance. RHV initially equipped the approximately 15 metre long grit chamber, and therefore a smaller tank, with the basic flizz® system. After the basic flizz® system had been in use on the grit chamber for a year without any incidents or signs of wear, the RHV fitters also retrofitted a second tank: the 46.5 metre long secondary clarifier. The floating moving end to compensate for the lateral offset of the scraper was also supplied by igus®.
