Fail-safe cable guidance for sliding gates

This also guarantees a high level of reliability for the door, which must be able to function in all weathers.

The French company SATIXI has been developing, producing, installing and maintaining access control and security systems for securing infrastructures and protecting people and property for 20 years. They are characterised by innovation, quality and durability.

These are fast and self-supporting sliding gates for security areas. Particularly important: wear-resistant components that guarantee a high level of reliability. Another requirement was that, as the sliding gates are used outdoors, the energy supply must guarantee a high level of reliability even in rain, snow, fog, frost and heat. In addition, the speed must be between 0.4 and 0.8 metres per second and the travel distance between 4 and 30 metres.

In collaboration with igus®, the designers at SATIXI opted for the micro flizz® MF06 for the guidance of energy and data cables - an iF Design award-winning cable carrier system that is particularly wear-resistant for the following reason: the upper and lower run of the chain move in an aluminium housing and therefore do not have to bear against each other. Their wear is correspondingly low. Even after one million double strokes and a distance of 6,000 kilometres covered, virtually no wear is visible. In addition, micro flizz® guarantees a high level of reliability for the door, which is designed to function in all weathers.
The micro flizz® energy chain system consists of cable CF9.05.07 from the chainflex® series, an energy chain made of high-performance plastic and an aluminium housing. A system that safely guides data, energy and media in the tightest of spaces. In addition, micro flizz® can be installed quickly and sliding gates require less maintenance because cleaning is unnecessary.
