This drilling machine is mounted on a trailer and is used to drill holes into concrete or asphalt. The angle of the bore column is hereby adjustable. In the pivot point of the column, bearings needed to be installed that withstand the demanding conditions. On one hand, the bearings needed to absorb impacts and vibrations and had to resist all weather conditions on the other hand. Conventional metal bearings were ruled out due to being corrosive. Therefore plastic plain bearings from igus® were used.
