Safe abseiling

This automatic abseiling and rescue equipment is mainly used for work on wind turbines. It has a manual winch and a worm gear that is only activated when the handle is opened. It can abseil loads weighing up to 280 kilograms from a height of up to 200 metres without any problem. The load is borne by the main shaft, which is guided by three polymer plain bearings from igus®. The bronze bearings previously used were not able to withstand the heavy load.
