Smooth movement with slewing rings in cleaning robot

During the development of the R12 Rex Scrub, there was one key challenge to overcome: the balance between performance and efficiency. The biggest problem was to create a cleaning machine that both achieves a high cleaning performance on large surfaces and is energy-efficient.

Another major problem was to make the machine maintenance-free and at the same time ensure a high level of durability and robustness.

To achieve this, a slewing ring bearing was sought that was lubrication-free, clean and had long-lasting specifications.

The solution was to equip the R12 Rex Scrub with PRT slewing ring bearings from igus® to solve the problem of friction minimisation and long-life bearings. The slewing ring bearings offer smooth movement without lubricants and are characterised by their robustness and resistance to external influences such as water and dirt. They also have a high load capacity and impact resistance, which is ideal for use in demanding cleaning environments.

The PRT slewing ring bearings also enable reliable and precise rotary movement of the cleaning device, even for large and heavy cleaning tasks. The use of these bearings ensures a long service life of the robot without the need for regular maintenance or lubrication. This reduces operating costs and increases the efficiency of the cleaning process.
