Problem

These conveyor rollers are primarily used in industrial plant. The stainless steel bearings used previously were very prone to failures and required a great deal of maintenance as they had to be lubricated and wore quickly due to friction.

Solution

Ishida Europe found the solution with xiros polymer ball bearings made of xirodur B180 with stainless steel balls. After the switch to the self-lubricating and FDA-compliant ball bearings by igus, the conveyor rollers function almost free of downtime and maintenance.
