Through the use of an igus® energy chain specifically developed for multi-axis robots, the triflex® R, the performance of this robot was increased. Prior to the use of the e-chain®, the cables were fastened with cable ties. That frequently led to entangled cables and the corkscrew effect, which lets the cables become susceptible to core ruptures. The new solution with triflex® R now reduces the maintenance and also protects the cable against damage.
