High-performance plastics designed for industrial vehicles

Repairing industrial vehicles is both time-consuming and expensive. Therefore, durable and reliable vehicle components are required in order to avoid downtime and unnecessary costs. igus® provides solutions ranging from cables with small bending radii, to bearings that endure loads of up to 36,000 psi. The maintenance-free and long-lasting igus® products can be found in forklifts, industrial tractors or driverless transport systems. Self-lubricating polymer bearings and linear guides from igus® can replace metallic bushings or recirculating ball bearing guides in many applications. Making the switch will enhance your technology and save costs.

igus® products successfully used in industrial vehicles

Guide roller with chainflex® cable in the lifting gear
Cables guided with guide rollers

Still GmbH, a company that develops order pickers, uses chainflex® cables with guide rollers at a stroke height of 39 feet. The cables withstand very small bend radii and are extremely resistant to wear, thus preventing “corkscrews.”

Forklift with iglide® bearings at the lifting mechanism
Reduced downtime and maintenance costs

Lubricated bronze bearings were originally used in this lifting machine, causing dirt accumulation and failure. These bronze bearings were replaced with maintenance-free iglide® bearings designed for high loads, which have decreased maintenance costs and downtimes.

Cabin with drylin® linear technology at the sliding door
Linear technology for harsh working conditions

In the Lochmann Cabine S.R.L. forklift, traditionally-used guides were used, which were prone to shocks, vibrations and jams caused by dirt adherence. As a fix, drylin® linear guides were installed into the sliding doors. The drylin® guides successfully resisted shocks, vibrations and dirt.

Seat with e-chain®
Less cable wear with energy chain

The energy chain product line provides secure cable guidance. The chains are used in seating systems, where they ensure long service life even in the smallest installation spaces.

chainflex® special cable for cameras and monitors
Perfect data transmission at 629 pounds

Special chainflex® cables were developed for transmitting data to cameras and monitors in industrial vehicles. The cables are oil-resistant, flame-retardant and can handle tensile strengths of 629 pounds.

iglidur® bar stock at fork tines
No costs for lubrication and maintenance

iglidur® bar stock eliminate the need for lubrication of the fork tine suspension. As their material has excellent coefficients of friction, fork tines can be moved without problems. Downtimes due to lubrication and costs for lubricants are thus eliminated.
