In this application the igus® flizz® system offered the appropriate solution. Since 2000, this system has replaced the previously used cable drums, which needed to be replaced every year. This is because these cable drums, in addition to being exposed to the usual ambient conditions in outdoor areas, such as the sun, frost, and wetness, were also exposed to the aggressive gasses occurring during waste water treatment (e.g. hydrogen sulfide) and were not able to cope with the pollution load. The igus® products (guiding trough, e-chain® and chainflex® cables) used here continue to prove their reliability today and drastically reduce the maintenance effort.
