Flexible bulk motor drive cables that are pre-assembled with connectors

igus® is a leading manufacturer of flexible cables that are built to work in tandem with plug-in connectors for direct connection to electric drives and motors.  Customers have the option to purchase either chainflex® bulk cable that can be connected to their existing motor drives, or readycable® pre-assembled cables with industrial connectors built similar to 20+ manufacturer standards.

Movement by electric drives is necessary for cables that use electrical energy from the power grid or from a battery that is converted into mechanical energy.  Motor drive cables are primarily the means of transport for electrical energy in cable carriers and used in various industries such as machine tools, automation and robotics, and for material handling machines in motion.

The most popular cable types used for drive technology applications are servo powerservo motor feedback and hybrid cables.  At igus® we have optimized our servo cables for the motors that are operated on a VFD or even a converter.  Today’s high-frequency-controlled drives and motors, known as Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), are demanding and technically sensitive.  Servo motor feedback cables are required to transmit signals between the position sensors of servo motors and their control systems within industrial plants and machines. Lastly, hybrid cables are a combination of a servo and motor feedback cable for drive technology.  They are typically used in servo drive systems, and supply the servo drive with energy and also send important information back to the control system.
igus® has been testing the service life of chainflex® cables for over 20 years within our 41,000 sq. ft. test laboratory located at our headquarters in Cologne, Germany, and all of our chainflex® cables are rigorously tested to earn a UL-verified mark based on our 4 year guarantee, lifetime calculator, and batch testing process.
