Students from the University of Texas at San Antonio competed in an American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Design Competition. The team used igubal® pillow blocks in a fishing device specially designed for quadriplegics.

The bearings were used to mount the drive shaft, which connected the motor to the casting rod. The students chose igubal® spherical bearings because they are self-lubricating and self-aligning. They placed 6th in the District E finals.
