This industrial machine is used for manufacturing matches and is thus permanently exposed to humidity and chemicals. The metal bearings used up to now required regular lubrication, which is very time-consuming. In addition, the metal bearings corroded very quickly and had to be replaced. The use of lubricant-free iglidur® plain bearings from igus® and igubal® pedestal bearings as shaft support reduced the maintenance time required and increased production safety at the same time.
