Our iglide® bar stock materials are available in a wide range of sizes and properties to match applications in any conditions or environments.

High surface quality:

Our CNC machining produces a center roughness of about 79–118 µin Ra. iglide® components normally do not require any special post-processing for their sliding surfaces.

Precise component dimensions with tight tolerances:

You receive dimensionally accurate components with tight tolerances and fits. Narrow tolerance widths (up to tolerance grade 9 in accordance with DIN ISO 286) are usually feasible. Tolerance widths of 0.05mm are therefore no problem.

A cost-effective method for custom parts:

CNC machining is often the most cost-effective for two to four-digit quantities, or for high volume parts with simple geometries.

Our manufacturing standards guarantee your custom turned and milled parts will be plastic-compatible for tolerancing and manufactured and shipped with competitive lead times.

✓ The general tolerance ISO 2768-m/K applies for plastic-compatible tolerancing with regard to length, shape and position

✓ The following minimum tolerance widths according to DIN ISO 286 are normally possible:

Nominal Dimensions of:

up to 30mm (~1.18 in): IT 9/10
from 30 to 180mm (~1.18 to ~7.09 in): IT 10/11
from 180 to 500mm (~7.09 to -19.69 in): IT 11/12/13
over 500mm (~19.69): Requires individual testing

(Tolerance minimums depend on the specific geometry, materials, and production option)

✓ Holes can be configured as metric ISO thread (M) (other thread types are also possible after testing)

✓ A center roughness value Ra of 2-3 µm is to be expected for the surface quality (corresponds to the typical values of finished surfaces in turning or milling)

CNC Machined Parts Application Stories

Sliding blocks for 2-post lift

Mechanically manufactured sliding blocks made of iglide material for use in a vehicle lift. The sliding blocks, manufactured from a semi-finished plate using a CNC milling machine, are used to absorb radial and axial forces in a linear guide.

Rollers for belt deflection in an ironing machine

Mechanically manufactured rollers made of our iglide® H1 are used in a fully automated ironing machine. The material scored with its long service life and low coefficients of friction under the influence of temperature. Bronze bearings were replaced in this case.

Component for a pasta sauce filling machine

One of our customers from the food industry uses our iglide A181 for a filling machine for tomato sauces. The component is in direct contact with the food, which means that only an FDA or EU 10/2011 compliant material could be used. The component was mechanically manufactured from a semi-finished round bar.

Rollers for conveyor belt

A frequent application that can be solved by using iglide® round bars are rollers or knife edge rollers. Depending on the wall thickness and component geometry, production in the injection molding process is difficult to implement, which is why mechanical production from iglide® bar stock is often an option. In this case, the rollers were used in a packaging machine.
