iglidur® i3000, 3D printing resin

  • Extremely wear-resistant: at least 30 to 60 times longer service life compared to conventional 3D printing resins
  • Enormous strength and stiffness (flexural strength 90 MPa)
  • Self-lubricating and low maintenance
  • High level of detail: resolution up to 35μm
  • Gears from finest tooth module of 0.2
  • Easy to process on DLP and LCD printers
Description produit
First 3D printing resin for wear-resistant parts and gears: iglidur® i3000

The iglidur i3000 3D printing resin is suitable for processing on DLP and also low-cost LCD printers and was developed specifically for printing gears and wear-resistant parts. With a service life of at least 30 times to 60 times longer than conventional 3D printing resins, iglidur® i3000 is suitable for all types of wear application. Thanks to the high resolution of up to 35μm, very delicate components can be printed with the finest details and due to the enrichment with solid lubricants, the components are also self-lubricating and low-maintenance. The mechanical specifications are largely isotropic due to the photopolymerisation process.

Thanks to an improved formula, the resin is now much easier to process, and on top, its mechanical properties increased by 90 % (flexural strength 90 MPa and flexural modulus 2,610 MPa).

Processing instructions: since skin contact with the liquid resin must be avoided, personal protective equipment is absolutely necessary during processing.

By the way: In its in-house 3D printing service, igus processes its own iglidur i3000 resin using the classic DLP process with a high resolution, which enables detailed shapes and recesses. In addition, the UV wavelength of 385 nm can reduce excessive hardening and ensure a more precise shape.

When to use it?
  • When components are to be manufactured with fine structures or tighter tolerances that are not possible using extrusion or sintering processes
  • If the component has complex structures, which are very difficult or impossible to rework
  • If you have your own 3D printing infrastructure for resins
When not to use it?
  • If the application requires a food grade material
  • For high application temperatures above 100°C
