Linear systems with air bearings have a low degree of friction, making them better for slow movements compared to roller bearings. They produce very little swishing noise (≤ 1 nm) depending on their design. This makes them ideal for use in roughness and form measuring devices.

Problem

The customer needed to find a cable guide that showed almost no wear, had no minimum order quantity, and could be fitted in a small installation space.
 

With igus®, it was to be possible to replace the energy chain systems quickly. Equipping entire systems with replacement parts in just a few minutes.

Solution

The e-skin® flat SKF12.4.03.01.1 as a quadruple layer system was successfully implemented into the customer's application.
 
The PVC & TPE cables from igus® are also operating without failure. The customer appreciated that fact that there is no minimum order quantity and that the e-skin® flat can be installed easily and quickly.
