Modular cable management for ISO class 1 applications
The ribbon cable e-skin® flat is a cleanroom-compatible cable guidance system made of high-performance plastic that shows no visible wear and tear and is abrasion-resistant.
The cable guides for automation systems and robots in display and semiconductor manufacturing and as well as the medical industry have strict requirements for reducing particulates. This is because any contamination with particles as small as 0.0001mm has a damaging effect on the product and the processes involved in creating them. Unlike customary solutions available on the market which use firmly defined ribbon cables, where stranding elements are firmly fused, the e-skin® flat system uses chambers that can be opened. In just a few minutes, flexible stranding elements (with or without connectors) can be exchanged or added.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
A: Yes, we tested the closed version of the SKF series in the Fraunhofer IPA test center of semiconductor devices on the basis of ISO class 14644-1 and obtained ISO Class 1 certification.
A: There are two options: One is PVC and the other is nano-F-coated TPE.
A: Only unsupported but please contact us and we will find a solution!
A: The mounting brackets are made from aluminum. Strain relief for the cables is made from a TPE profile.
A: That depends on your application but, normally, igus® products have been tested for 10 million double strokes.
A: Tools are not neccesary as the e-skin® flat is easy to open by hand thanks to the zipper.
A: Yes, this can be done by adding a new mounting bracket.
A: Because our SKF12.x.02 can be easily opened, you can change the cables very quickly.
