Plastic ball bearing rollers that can move heavy & fragile loads with minimum effort

Five times higher load capacity possible

Able to handle loads of up to 337 lbs (1,500 N), igus® ball bearing rollers, also known as ball transfer units, can move heavy as well as fragile loads conveniently, safely and in almost every direction. High quality main and support balls ensure rounder surfaces for smooth and consistent rolling. Designed for use in materials handling ball tables and glass processing, their many different designs offer a wide variety of cost-effective applications. Available as units made entirely of maintenance-free and dry-running plastic materials, they also come with stainless steel conveyor balls.

Compared to ball tables made of metal, igus® maintenance-free and self-lubricating ball transfer units help save money, time and effort.  They can be installed for horizontal, vertical and overhead movements.  A newly designed housing interior offers a five times higher load capacity.

Made of abrasion resistant xiros®, the polymer is durable and nonconductive. For applications that require non-magnetic ball transfer units, glass balls are available to replace the stainless-steel balls.  All of our xiros bearings are tested to the highest standards at the industry's largest test laboratory, at our headquarters in Cologne, Germany.

How are the ball bearing rollers constructed?

xiros ball bearing rollers have a housing made of high-performance plastics with an embedded ball socket. This serves as a running surface for the support balls. If the load ball rotates, the support balls roll on the ball socket. Depending on the application, various materials are available for the running ball and the support balls. The situation is completely different with the sliding ball transfer unit. The support balls previously used in our ball bearing rollers are replaced by a sliding insert made of the in-house iglide J3B. The stainless steel load ball therefore no longer runs on the support balls as in previous versions, but on the particularly wear-resistant sliding insert.
