The center section of this bridge over the Piscataqua River between Portsmouth and Kittery in the USA can be raised and lowered using a lifting mechanism. In the past, the repeated movement led to frequent breaks and damage to the cables used in the motors. Thanks to igus® e-chains® such breakdowns are now a thing of the past.
