iglide® B160 bar stock - plate
iglide® B160 is a black, cost-effective triboplastic that delivers smooth, quiet sliding with low wear and media resistance. It is well suited for visible assemblies and offers dependable performance on aluminum or mixed counterfaces, making it practical for liners and wear plates where budget matters.
When to use it: For black, visually integrated plates with quiet motion and good wear at low to medium loads.
When not to use it: For food contact or higher-heat hygiene zones, see A160 or A350; for broader general-purpose wear life, see J or JB.
Industry/Application Areas
- Automation fixtures and guides
- Furniture and appliance mechanisms
- General machine building
igus® plate stock provides flat iglide® slabs for machining wear plates, bearing blocks, glide pads, and custom flat parts. Plates are self-lubricating and maintenance free, supporting low friction and long service life without external lubrication. The large face area favors pocketing, counterbores, and nesting multiple parts from one blank, with broad material options for food, chemical, or temperature demands. Available in round bar stock, plate stock, sheet stock, plate strips, and custom profiles (upon request).
When to use plate stock
- Wider or thicker flat parts not economical in strips or sheets
- Faces needing pockets, counterbores, or tapped features
- Nesting several components from one plate to reduce setups
- Stiff mounting faces, large wear pads, bolt through interfaces
- Need the broadest choice of iglide® grades for a specific counterface
When not to use plate stock
- Long, narrow rails that fit a standard strip width (choose plate strips)
- Very thin liners or shims with tight height limits (choose sheet stock)
- Turned, round parts (choose round bar)
- Very high volumes of one geometry (use catalog parts or molding)
