A single-face protected configuration for environments where only one side sees contamination. A sealing lip closes the gap between inner and outer ring on one face, blocking dust, debris, and other particulates from reaching the sliding interface. Built around the standard hard-anodized aluminum housing and replaceable iglide® J pads, it carries the range of PRT-01 benefits — very high load capacity, high rigidity, and maintenance-free operation — with the added durability of contamination protection on the exposed side. The right call when the bearing’s mounting orientation means only one face sees dust, debris, or particulate, and the other is protected by the host structure.
When to use it: Heavy-duty rotary applications in dirty or gritty environments where one face of the bearing is exposed and the other is sheltered — outdoor mechanisms, woodworking, light grinding, and similar single-face contamination scenarios.
When not to use it: When both faces of the bearing are exposed to contamination (use the two-sided -DD variant), or when the environment is clean enough for a standard unsealed PRT-01.
