- Extreme wear resistance
- Resistance to chemicals
- Highly temperature resistant(-100 °C to 300°C)
- Eliminates the need for additional lubrication due to incorporated solid lubricants

A tribologically optimized polymer coating that builds the bearing directly into the metal substrate. The specialty member of the iglide® IC product line, built for environments where standard polymer coatings aren't enough. IC-04 holds its tribological performance from -100°C to 250°C (-148°F to 482°F) in continuous service and tolerates 300°C (572°F) short-term, an operating envelope four times wider than the rest of the IC range. It also brings broad chemical resistance and incorporated solid lubricants, so heavily loaded surfaces stay protected without external grease or oil. The grey matte coating is denser than the others (3.18 g/cm³), which means lower coverage per kilogram — this is a coating you specify when the application demands it, not as a cost-driven default. Cross-cut adhesion is GT 0, the same as the rest of the product line.
When to use it: Applications that combine motion with temperature extremes, chemical exposure, or both — where adding external lubrication is impractical, prohibited, or guaranteed to be neglected, and where a standard polymer coating would degrade, soften, or wash out.
When not to use it: When the application stays within normal industrial temperature and chemistry (use IC-01 or IC-02 for substantially better coverage economics), or when food contact is required (use IC-05 or IC-05PF — IC-04 is not approved for direct food contact despite its other advantages).
Application areas: Packaging machinery exposed to wash-down chemistry, laboratory and analytical equipment, oven and dryer components, cryogenic handling fixtures, chemical processing pivots and slides, sterilization equipment, and any moving surface where the operating envelope rules out conventional coatings.
