iglide® A351 round bar stock is a high-performance plastic material developed for custom machined components used in food contact applications, especially where elevated temperatures, chemicals and corrosion create demanding operating conditions. The material combines high wear resistance with strong chemical and media resistance while operating without external lubrication.
A351 is also bisphenol-free and offers an economical alternative to PEEK-based materials for demanding wear applications. In igus® laboratory testing, A351 achieved a wear rate of 11.52 μm/km compared with 41.2 μm/km for the tested PEEK material, supporting service life up to three times longer while offering cost savings of up to 75%.
The round bar format gives engineers the flexibility to machine custom plain bearings, guides, sliding elements and other wear-resistant plastic components while maintaining the self-lubricating, grease-free performance of iglide® materials.
