The hard-anodized aluminum housing is paired with FDA-compliant iglide® A180 replaceable sliding pads, making the bearing safe for food contact while preserving the product line’s heavy-duty load capacity, rigidity, and grease-free operation. A180’s washdown compatibility means the bearing can stand up to standard hygienic cleaning protocols without deterioration, eliminating the need for protective covers, secondary barriers, or separate hygienic-grade specification work that would otherwise be required to use a heavy-duty slewing ring in a food zone.
When to use it: Heavy-duty rotary applications in food and beverage processing requiring direct or near-direct food contact, washdown environments, and any hygienic process where standard sliding compounds wouldn’t pass compliance review.
When not to use it: When food contact compliance isn’t required (use the standard J variant for better wear performance and lower cost), or when full stainless construction is needed in addition to the FDA-compliant sliding element.
