It offers particularly good wear properties, especially in linear and pivoting motion profiles. It has a very low coefficient of friction and is vibration-dampening. iglide® E lasts up to 3 times longer in rotating and linear applications than iglide® J. Moisture absorption and thermal expansion are crucial for the material. Plain bearings with low moisture absorption can be installed with minimal bearing clearance. Regarding wall thickness, the following applies: the thicker the bearings, the greater the bearing clearance required. Assemblyiglide® plain bearings are press-fit bushings. The inner diameter is only adjusted to the appropriate tolerance after being pressed into the mounting bore. The press-fit interference can be up to 2% of the inner diameter. This ensures a secure press fit of the bearings. Axial or radial displacement in the housing is thus reliably prevented.
