Crash simulation robots use cable carriers

Very high accelerations provided an enormous challenge for the design engineers of this robot. To test to what extent pedestrians would be protected at the front ends of cars in the event of a collision, crash simulation dummies needed to be fired onto the front end from the robot using a catapult. The catapult accelerates suddenly to approx. 3 miles per hour in just 0.03 seconds. This design challenge was resolved with a triflex® R energy chain cable carrier, which in this application guides two hydraulic lines, compressed air hoses, and 15 data and control cables.
